Tour benefits food pantries
STAR REPORT

Five Hendricks County food pantries should get a helping hand this weekend thanks to the Harvest Home Tour at Windridge Landing in Brownsburg.
The homes of 10 custom builders are on the tour, which will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The homes range in price from $440,000 to $750,000.

While the tour is free, people are asked to donate food and other items for the pantries. Cash donations also will be accepted.

"The whole idea was to show the houses and to bring awareness to the local food pantries," said Becky Harris of Homes & Homesites, the Hendricks County real estate agency sponsoring the tour.

For taking part in the tour, people also can enter to win a $500 gas card, Harris said.

The tour will benefit:

* Cornerstone Christian Church, Brownsburg.

* Kingsway Christian Church, Avon.

* Light and Life Free Methodist Church, Avon.

* Messiah Lutheran Church, Brownsburg.

* St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Plainfield.
